Natural. Human beings generally enjoy surrounding themselves with wood – walls, roofs, floors, furniture and other things. The wide usage reflects the close relationship most of us have with nature, and the interest in wood as a material is on the rise in Europe.

Timeless. The wood’s natural structure and colors makes it an important visual element in design and architecture. The safe and harmonious expression creates a timeless elegance. Timeless is the classical style’s soul.

Unique. Wood is malleable and the ability to be combined in an almost unlimited number of ways. Hardly any other natural material can compete with its multifaceted usefulness. Heavy and solid or light and airy. Quite simply, it’s unique.

Trysil Interiørtre AS combines the wood’s characteristics with the functional; chipboard (shavings), fiberboard, MDF or gypsum wood chipboard finely treated with precious wood.

The Walls are the Room

Stram design. A wall covering with straight lines and professional design is almost a form of furniture in and of itself. The living expression of the wood combined with the clean lines of the plates is a great element for an architect to work with. Tight and simple, yet warm and organic. Tight design with long life expectancy.

Individual. Veneered plates have inspired architects and designers alike for years. To utilize this material in modern design and architecture is to find new approaches with a well-known material. The incredible selection of wood veneer types and different surface treatments is in and of itself a source of inspiration. All our veneered plates have their own individual expression – none are identical.

Functional. For larger buildings the safety requirements are getting increasingly strict. Trysil Antibrann takes care of the fire technical requirements pertaining to wall cladding and is K1A-ln1-approved as by the NS 3919. Since the condition of a room’s acoustics have a great impact on the indoor environmental quality, the choice of room shape and surface material is of utmost importance. Perforated or slotted plates control the acoustics of the room while at the same time providing an interesting visual effect.

Living Ceiling

Completeness. The ceiling gives the room dimension and creates the totality – bright and airy or warm and intimate. Using wood as ceiling material gives a luxurious feeling; a warm atmosphere with unique features that only wood has. Traditional, yet modern.

Alive. The plates are veneered from a varied selection of wood types; cool birch, calm pear tree or lively cherry – to name a few. From calm harmony to exciting and full of contrasts.

Eco-Friendly. More than 98 % of the plates’ constituents are completely natural, like plaster and wood. The usage of chemical components is limited to the gluing of veneer and the surface treatment. Hence, the plates do not emit any toxic gases – not even when on fire.

The Sound-Absorption Coefficient, Eh?

Acoustics. In rooms where people get together and discussions and speeches happen, the condition of the acoustic quality in the room is important. Perforated or slotted plates with acoustic cloth or mineral wool adjust the reverberation time and lower the noise level. The plates’ ability to absorb sound is dependent upon the degree of perforation, the mineral wool’s density and the space behind the plates.

Perforation Patterns. Not only the acoustics are being controlled. All the perforation holes give the cladding a unique look and can be utilized as a visual element on its own. Based on the design you want and the sound absorption requirements you have, we choose a pattern from a given standard of hole diameter and the distance between them.

The Degree of Perforation. The diagrams you see on the left illustrate the sound absorption factor for Trysil Antibrann relating to different degrees of perforation and is measured according to the ISO 54 by SINTEF in Trondheim. The absorption factor 1.0 means the product absorbs 100 % of all recorded sound – thus, no sound is reflected out from the surface.

Wood That Does Not Burn

Trysil Antibrann. In most larger buildings the regulations require the interior cladding to be a non-flammable material with a surface that does not contribute to the spreading of potential flames. Trysil Antibrann is Norway’s one and only precious wood veneered plate that meets the requirements of the fire classification K1A-ln1 in NS 3919. Safety and aesthetics united.

Fire Classification. The plates have been through full-scale testing conducted by Sintef NBL and are approved as by license nr. 632 from NEMKO Certification AS.

Perforated and slotted plates is not fire classified but is viewed as non-flammable material (SBI jnr. 2165/82, dated July 9. 192).

Mounting. Cladding that suddenly drop from the walls is a big threat during a potential fire. Therefore, it’s of the utmost importance that the assembly system remains intact. Trysil Antibrann is tested with a standard assembly system adhering to Testmetode NS-INSTA411 (NT-FIRE003). The temperature was increased from 20°C to 700°C in 10 minutes. After the tests, the panels were still intact, and the assembly system and the backing material remained unaffected.

Wooden Plaster. Trysil Antibrann has a core of 13 mm. incombustible wooden plaster plate, not containing asbestos or other harmful substances. The plates neither burn nor emit any poisonous smoke.

Something Uniquely Special

Subcontractor. Custom-made plates with your desired quality, veneer and surface treatment is our specialty, and deliveries of components to the furniture and furnishings industry is a big part of the production. The only thing we need from you is a mere request and an illustration.

Moldings and Profiles. Moldings and door frames matching the room’s cladding is what sets the final touch. In buildings out of the ordinary, with notably characteristic constructions, you won’t always find the moldings in the standard product assortment. That’s when you need tailor-made solutions.

Furnishing. Furniture and interior design is a field that often has special requirements for the look and quality of the components, whether this be a desktop cut to a specific form, a rounded corner shelf or a custom-fit wardrobe.

Slotting is only possible on plates with wood plaster or MDF-core.

Form Cutting and Processing

The plate material is cut by CNC-controlled machines based on the client’s illustration and specifications.
Maximum output format is 3000 x 1200 mm. Furthermore, the products can be processed so they only need to be assembled when arriving at our client’s location.
